WebQuest

 

I chose to create a Community Helper WebQuest for my Web-Based Inquiry Lesson. I based this lesson off of the Kindergarten Social Studies SOL K.6, where students match descriptions of jobs to the people that work in that job. I was excited to find that I could create my WebQuest through Google sites. Google actually provides users with several WebQuest templates to chose from. The idea of creating a WebQuest was overwhelming at first, as this was a completely new experience for me. In the end, I did enjoy working through it. It was an extremely challenging project, but well worth the product that came out of it. My kindergarten students love using technology to learn and I can only imagine this WebQuest continuing to be a great tool to reinforce my community helper unit in the future. The fact that I created the WebQuest on a Google site will make it very easy for me to sign in and modify the WebQuest as I find other resources I want to try. I look forward to creating more WebQuests in the future!
